Shop & Books

The museum gift shop is located in the 'Emerald', the entrance hall of the Museum Rietberg. During museum hours, you will find our exhibition publications and posters as well as other items complementing our special exhibitions such as fiction, postcards, games, CDs and DVDs.

The gift shop also offers homeware and crafted objects which you will hardly find elsewhere. Roughly 100 items from around the world are assembled: besides a selection of jewelery, ceramic and porcelain goods as well as printed Japanese wrapping paper you might find masks from Bhutan, pearly stools from Cameroon, woven baskets from Laos, or alebrije, papermaché figures from Mexico, depending on the ongoing exhibition.

Our main focus is the reference to the exhibition as much as the high-standard workmanship of our products of which many are fairtrade.

  • Our mango replicas are made of mango-scented glycerin, not of wax. The soaps were hand-made by the artist Marlies Pekarek exclusively for our museum shop.

A visit to our new exhibition and the museum shop is an inspiring experience. Maybe you would like an exclusive piece of jewellery, a replica from the Andes or you wish to treat yourself or a friend to one of our books on the current topic.

All of our current books are available in the shop or in local bookstores.

Books from our backlist can be ordered directly from us. We accept credit cards (Visa, Euro Card / Master Card) or we can send you an invoice (plus postage and handling).
